Coach Rayburn’s coaching philosophy is dedicated to providing advanced training to players to prepare them for the next steps in their volleyball career. Kristi Rayburn has had volleyball in her life for 20 years. She began playing basketball and volleyball as a young girl in a small North Texas town. She attended Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. During her college years, Kristi captained a number of teams to USAV Open National Championships. In 2009, Kristi and her beach partner Amanda turned their love for volleyball into a professional endeavor…they joined the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour and were seeded as high as 42nd and played all over the country. Kristi has been coaching for over 12 years. She started at Fort Worth Country Day School, then moved to Dallas and coached 5 years with Club Legacy, 3 years with the Flyers, and this will be her 3rd year coaching at The Episcopal School of Dallas. She has qualified 2 teams for Nationals and has 3 former players playing collegiate volleyball. This will be her first year with Summit. She and her husband, Joe, are the parents of two star athletes and one hopeful. Abby is a sophomore at JJ Pearce HS and is a part of the Color Guard and JV basketball team, Logan is a junior at Parish Episcopal School and is the starting DB and wide receiver for the Varsity football team, and Clinton is 5 years old starting Kindergarten at Bowie Elementary! This family is very competitive in all that they do; whether it is a board game, a video game, or just a friendly game of basketball. Kristi believes you can accomplish anything with determination, hard work, and faith in God.
